Greyhound Cafe
Greyhound Cafe
Harbour City, Hong Kong.
Great atmosphere and service, but below-par food. The chicken wings
with fish sauce were nicely fried, but the fish sauce wasn't
pronounced enough for the dish to deserve its name.

Liberty Exchange
Liberty Exchange
G/F, Block 2, The Forum
8 Connaught Road, Central.
Eggs Benedict with a butter croissant, grilled pork loin and chorizo
hollandaise. The theory was sound, but the execution was disastrous.
The hollandaise broke before it even arrived at the table, and the
waiter didn't find it objectionable after the obvious was pointed out.

Mist
Mist
G/F, 4 Sun Wui Road, Causeway Bay
Hong Kong
Karamiso ramen in miso soup. The noodles were thicker and heftier than
those offered at many other ramen restaurants in Hong Kong, yielding a
more chewy and tangy texture. The miso soup base featured a rich, nutty body
while offering a finish lingered with essence of pork fat and fresh
sesame. The crispy and airy onion salad, standing weightlessly above
the soup, played a lighter, Robin-esque counterpoint to the soup base's heavier
Batman. The only blemish of the evening was the chashu. It was rather
dry and so thinly cut that it almost disintegrated into the hot soup.

Huangheshui
Food Court @ Shinkong Place.
Shaanxi noodle soup (岐山哨子面). The noodles were too soft and lacked
body, while the rest of the "chop suey" ingredients was too coarsely
cut, yielding big square cubes of carrots and beans that couldn't
"trap" into the noodles as they were retrieved by the chopsticks.
